An exquisite antique Georgian snake collar from the early 19th Century made up of three different shades of brown hair plaited beautifully to create one thick band.
The piece is finished with a fabulous 18ct gold snake head and tail which forms a hook clasp. Both sections feature beautiful, engraved detailing and the head is crowned with a clear rock crystal window that showcases plaited hair underneath as well.
A fascinating piece of history and beautifully preserved.
